The '97 & '98 reunions in Putney were a blast for me...getting to play soccer again with the great team we had in the late 60s and early 70s under Coach Bill Servidio and then Bob Vannelli once the sports budget died. And seeing all those former Windhamites especially Dave Parker in business suits and hearing tales of gainful employment and successful careers. Guess some would be just as surprised about me... At the '97 reunion the Old Lion's beat landmark staff 4-1 and then played to a 0-0 grudge match tie in '98. I think only half the Windham team was able to run up and down the field but with ace Jimmy Finn we were able to surprise the 30 somethings from landmark...
I would love to come again and see my teammates and the Windham Abroad crew from Mexico 1972...a trip to remember. I am in touch with a couple of folks and I will call them. Oh yeah, and the other 7 math majors I shared time and an "early model" computer with... Sandy Lord Alive and Well and Still Kicking... Sandy's Marathon Running Website sandy@fortbendfit.org |

computer originally posted by Phil Bobrow on 16 June 2005 at 20:46:52 Hi Sandy, If I remember it was the defense that won that game. With Mark "the gimp" Wilks in the goal and Tom Minich and myself as fullbacks we shut down those young whipper snappers...lol I think Windham had a great math dept. with Dr. White and Dr. Zielinski. I remember that computer terminal in the basement which if I remember correctly was hooked into the mainframe at Dartmouth. photogf128@aol.com |

math dept originally posted by stacey on 18 June 2005 at 09:43:11 yes, dr. wright and dr. zielinski were terrific teacher. both were quite instrumental in influencing my career path to math and later, computer science. (i was an english major until i took a course from dr. wright as an elective!) dr. lewand was also an excellent professor. i believe stan zielinski is retired in new hampshire now, and bob lewand is associated with goucher college in maryland. i remember sitting in that basement, freezing, using that old terminal with the coupler modem. i have now taught computer science for 23 years, and my students find it hard to believe we actually used paper tapes to store data!! grossos@smccd.net |
